About Us

Verano Cold Brew is brewed exclusively in Kyoto style cold drip towers.

The Kyoto Tower Advantage

Most coffee shops, and retailers use an immersion method for brewing cold brew. It's a simple process where coffee grounds are left to sit in a bucket or pot of water for a number of hours. However, this method lacks a crucial element: the gentle movement of water that enhances the extraction process, without which can lead to a stale or less flavorful cup of cold brew. Couple that with filtering methods that leave muddy sediment, and the fact that stagnant room temperature water is an environment rife for bacteria growth and we can see why immersion brewing falls short of delivering the optimal cold brew experience.

Enter the Kyoto tower. You may have seen one of these towers before. They kind of look like a miniature chemistry set. Ice water slowly drips down from a top reservoir through the bed of coffee grounds and into the collection tank.

The continuous flow of water actively extracts coffee compounds, while the filtration is achieved through an extremely effective self-filtering process. The ground bed acts as the filter mechanism, which results in an exceptionally pure finished product, free of any sediment, and no bitterness.

Mass coffee companies simply aren't able to brew this way, due to the amount of time it takes. But at Verano, we love you! So we'll do it.
